Another Little Piece of My Heart Fangirl Giveaway!!

I'm delighted to announce a giveaway for a book I really loved, the next title in the Harlequin Teen Digital First collection, Another Little Piece of My Heart by Tracey Martin. This music-filled story is sweet and heartbreaking -- I couldn't put it down, and I'm so excited to be sharing it with you today!

What if your devastating break-up became this summer's hit single? In this rock-and-roll retelling of Jane Austen's Persuasion, music can either bring you together or tear you apart.

At her dying mother's request, Claire dumps Jared, the only boy she's ever loved. Left with a broken family and a broken heart, Claire is furious when she discovers that her biggest regret became Jared's big break. While Jared is catapulted into rock-star status, another piece of Claire's heart crumbles every time his song plays on the radio.

The summer after her senior year, it's been months since the big break-up, and Claire is just trying to keep her head down and make it through a tense trip to the beach with her family. But when Jared shows up, and old feelings reignite, can Claire and Jared let go of the past? Or will they be stuck singing the same old refrain?

"Sweet, sassy and incredibly swoon-tastic! The romance between these two musicians will strum every reader's heartstrings." - Jennifer Walkup, author of Second Verse

"A rocking second chance story layered with wit, music, and heart." - Jean Haus, author of In the Band

Tracey Martin grew up outside of Philadelphia, the lucky recipient of a drama-free childhood, which is why she spent so much time reading about other people's lives. It was while she was working on her doctorate in psychology that she had an epiphany--imaginary people are way more fun than real ones. And so she began writing. Never able to choose just one of anything, she currently writes both urban fantasy for adults and contemporary stories for teens.

She likes her coffee simple, her music epic, and her movies to contain explosions. A city girl at heart, she doesn't understand how she and her husband ended up living in New Hampshire, but writing keeps her off the mean, small town streets. You can find her online at tracey-martin.com.

CRASH INTO YOU FANGIRL GIVEAWAY

ISAIAH'S STORY IS ALMOST HERE!!! SQUEEE!! TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY!!

To celebrate the launch of awesome and incredible author Katie McGarry's new book,
Crash Into You, I'm giving away three digital pre-orders of the title on Nov. 25th,
the day before it releases!

Enter now for your chance to win!! We love you, Katie!!

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane.

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers…and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker—a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks—no matter how angelic she might look. But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

Katie was a teenager during the age of grunge and boy bands and remembers those years as the best and worst of her life. She is a lover of music, happy endings, reality television, and is a secret University of Kentucky basketball fan.

She is the author of the full length novels Pushing the Limits, Dare You To, Crash Into You, and Take Me On and the novella, Crossing the Line.

Katie loves to hear from her readers. Contact her via her website, www.katielmcgarry.com, follow her on Twitter @katiemcgarry, or become a fan on Facebook and Goodreads.

Stir Me Up Halloween Bonus Scene + Giveaway

HALLOWEEN BONUS SCENE

There aren’t that many houses on our street, so we only get a few trick-or-treaters for Halloween. The youngest and cutest are always first to arrive, and Estella and I keep taking turns peeking out the windows as we wait for them.

“Oh no!” she suddenly cries. “I forgot to light the Jack-O-Lanterns!”

Julian shakes his head and digs into his second bowl of chili. “Two nutjobs.”

“I heard that,” I tell him, because there’s nothing nuts about me being dressed up tonight. I’m a witch this year, with the dress and hat. “Careful, or I’ll turn you into a toad.”

“Shouldn’t you be a crazed chef?”

“Nah, that’s for every other day of the year.” I study him curiously for a moment. “What did you go as when you were little?”

“A stick-in-the-mud,” he says, ripping at his corn bread.

“Well, that costume must have been easy for you.”

He hides a smirk. “What were you? A princess?”

“Sometimes. Once I was Zorro.”

He grins. “That’s cool. I was all sorts of guys -- Storm Troopers, every superhero.”

“Favorite superhero?”

“Spidey. For sure. When I was little I used to do the hand motion to make the web all the time.”

“Let’s see,” I say.

“No way.”

“Come on. Please?”

He rolls his eyes, and zings me with his index and pinkie finger.

“Our first trick-or-treater’s here!” Estella suddenly exclaims, rushing back inside. “A little pirate!”

“Wait!” I cry. I go rushing past Julian to get the bowl of candy to take out to our guest. He’s maybe three years old. Both his parents are with him.

“What do you say?” his mother coaches.

“Twick-ow-Tweet,” he whispers.

Awww….

“Julian, you can’t just sit there. You have to help us next time,” I tell him once I’m back in the kitchen.

He studies me for a moment. “You need a wig.”

“And a broom. I had one once but…” The doorbell rings. “Hold on!”

The kids are so cute. Once they’re gone, I turn and see Julian lingering behind us in the doorway. “You don’t buy the little candy bars?”

“No, are you kidding? The big ones rock. They’re like the super-bonus.”

He smiles. “True. Can I steal a Hershey Almond?”

“Not a Snickers bar?”

“They’re good also. Neither are as good as a Butterfinger, but...”

The doorbell rings again. “You do this one,” I urge. “Help Estella.”

“No,” he says.

“Come on.” I hand the bowl to him. “There. No give backs.”

He wheels reluctantly over to the doorway with it.

“So, Marine, how did it go?” I ask once the door closes.

He hands the treat bowl back to me. “I survived.”

Later, once it’s safe to flip the lights off, Estella and I both head to the sun room to watch Julian’s movie with him. “What did he get again?” I ask her.

“Not sure. Some zombie thing.”

I wrinkle my nose. “Oh.” Sounds promising.

I go in kind of cautiously, because I seriously am a wimp when it comes to scary movies. Julian’s in Dad’s chair, so Estella and I take opposite ends of the sofa. I’m nearest the door. Which is good in case I need to make a quick getaway.

“You guys ready?” he asks. He switches from his TV show to the movie.

“This isn’t so bad, actually,” I comment after awhile. Because at first it’s normal teenagers who suspect something’s up with the graveyard. They dare each other to go there.

Of course then the zombies crawl out. To my surprise, the girl kills the first one.

Of course it’s the boy who gets to hack at them with an axe.

“Don’t see why the girl can’t get something cooler than a chef’s knife.”

Julian raises an eyebrow at me. “A girl with a chef’s knife can be pretty dangerous.”

Ha ha. I’ve taken off my witch costume and am kind of shivering there in my tank top and yoga pants. He takes the blanket off his lap and tosses it over to me.

A half hour later, all the main couple’s friends have their brains eaten out, zombie parts are lying everywhere, Estella’s escaped off to bed, and I’m hiding under the blanket in fear.

Suddenly, the volume is lowered. I peek my head out and catch Julian watching me intently. “Better?” he asks.

“Yeah, thanks. I…” I look away from him, heat rising to my cheeks.

“Want me to shut it off?”

“You’d miss the ending.”

“We could say they all lived happily ever after.”

I snort. “Except for the undead. And the dead-dead.”

He smiles and shifts so he’s slightly turned to me. “Yeah, except for them.”

There, unfortunately, is a massive coffee table between us. And it’s not just that. Recently, we’ve been avoiding being alone together. But looking at him like this, I can’t think of why. I just know I wish he was closer to me. “You can finish it.”

“You’ll hide?”

“No, I’ll watch.” I make a little peephole in the quilt. Neither one of us seems able to focus on the TV. And neither of us speaks much when the movie is finally over. I want to go over to him, at least hand him the blanket or touch his shoulder or something. But I don’t. Instead, I chicken out, say goodnight and head upstairs. Which is probably for the best. But still, thoughts of him linger in my mind so much, it’s difficult for me to fall asleep.

Thank you Jennifer L. Armentrout!

From light-bending bad boys with brilliant green eyes, to astronomy partners with pet turtles and a penchant for making mouth-watering chocolate cookies, Jennifer L. Armentrout is nothing if not master of the hot guy. The Smokin’ Hot Guy. We love her men. We lust for them. We turn pages like starved romance fiends for want of them. The adventures rock. The pages sizzle. The witty asides and snarky banter never fail to make us smile. Jennifer’s not just a bestselling author, she’s a dream-weaver, and I most definitely, like so many others, am caught completely under her spell.

When I learned Jennifer had read and liked my work, I was so excited, I literally couldn’t sleep for a few days after. Crazy? No. I love her books. I’m sure you do, too. And the fact that she has now posted an excerpt of my novel along with a contest on her website is quite simply amazing.

As if that weren’t enough, Jennifer has also put me in touch with the gorgeous male cover model we have in common, her Daemon, my Julian, the real live Pepe Toth, who is more charming in real life than you can imagine. And I’ll be proving it to you in an interview I’ve recently had with him that will be appearing tomorrow on my blog at www.sabrinaelkins.com.

Thank you so much, Jennifer, for everything you’ve done and are doing to help promote Stir Me Up. I’m extremely grateful to you for your support!

Thank You, Katie McGarry!!

http://www.katielmcgarry.com/post/2013/09/03/Chance-To-Win-DARE-YOU-TO-or-PUSHING-THE-LIMITS.aspx

I am a huge Katie McGarry fan. Her books, for me, are always finished in the wee hours of the morning, because I simply can't put them down once I start reading them. I greatly admire her authentic voice and storytelling prowess -- and I have mad love for each and every one of her characters (though I must admit to having a favorite among them: Beth). It is a huge honor for me to have Katie's endorsement, and I'm even more overwhelmed that she is now holding a contest to help launch Stir Me Up. Thank you so much, Katie, for your generosity and support. I can't want to read Crash Into You, coming November 26th!

Hello and welcome to my very first blog ever!

I'm extremely excited this week to be putting together the last finishing touches on my website, www.sabrinaelkins.com, which should go live any day now.

First, I'm so thrilled to have blurbs from two of my absolute favorite YA authors, Jennifer Echols and Katie McGarry! When these blurbs first came in, I was on cloud nine for days! It's an amazing feeling to learn authors you admire like your work!

Also, I am so excited to have artwork from my famous and incredibly cool animator friend Steven E. Gordon on the website. Isn't his drawing of Cami and Julian awesome?

Because there's a lot of cooking in Stir Me Up, and because I'm a foodie, I've included some recipes for you with step-by-step photos. I also have a gallery for posting fan art, which should hopefully be fun.

My book comes out next month, on Oct. 1st, and we'll definitely have some very cool giveaways and promotions before then. In fact, be sure to check back in a few days. I think I'll be announcing one shortly!

Thanks so much for checking in with me!
